Making coffee at 10pm (this is normal right?)

Kept missing the quill challenges for Pottermore early access, then the seventh day which also happens to be my anniversary (UK time of course) is when I get access. I'm so super dorky, nerdy, crazily excited. I can't stand it. I joined the Harry Potter series at a time in my life when I needed an outlet. I was at a thankless job, suffering panic attacks, on the verge of a breakdown (I'm not the dramatic type folks) and I gave this series a try. Never having grown up with the series I've felt like an outsider to the fandom, an obsessed can-give-you-a-run-for-your-money-in-trivia-questions fan, but still an outsider. Now having won early access I feel like I'm right there with everyone else. I'm excited and can't wait to see what this site brings. Here's hoping that when my husbanded signed me up on his iPhone and couldn't scroll, that my date of birth being '97 instead of '86 won't be limiting me. Nonetheless I'm super excited, super dorked out, and super crazy looking after posting this. Now to enjoy my french vanilla coffee and read some of Philosopher's Stone!

Alternative

Yeah it's been a while. Since moving back to my hometown, I've been busier than ever. Meaning I've been neglecting the tiny blog audience (let's face it the three of you) for a while. My love and apologies. Alright, so saying I love my dog is an understatement, considering the url for my blog is his name. I've always wanted to know exactly what he is eating and where it comes from. Look at most pet food labels, chicken by part. What is that anyway? I don't really want to know. So I found this wonderful recipe to make your own dog meals, I know where all the ingredients come from, and I know what exactly is going into his meals. And the bonus, my dog goes CrAzY for his meals. It's pretty simple to make, well it takes maybe an hour. But if you have a food chopper that can cut back on some time. The recipe makes enough for my 9lbs. dog to eat for the week. Also it tastes good enough that a human can just add salt and enjoy.

Yummy, right?

3lbs. Chicken (3 large breasts do the trick)
2 1/2 cups minced celery and carrot (1 1/4 of each)
3 1/2 cups white rice
6 1/2 cups water

Using a chopper will work quicker than mincing by knife.
Also using some of the water from the boiled chicken will cause the taste to absorb into the rice.

-Boil chicken in pot (boils faster if the breasts are cut into fourths)
-Combine all ingredients in a large pot
-Bring to boil then lower to medium heat
-Simmer for 10-20 minutes until the rice has absorbed all water and is tender
-Cool and serve
-Store leftovers in the refrigerator

When serving your pup the cold leftovers you can add a small amount of water and microwave for 5-10 seconds depending on your microwave. Now we are still new at this so we are serving Scooter half a cup in the mornings and half a cup at night. Keep in mind he only weighs 9lbs. Start your dog off with smaller portions, it's easier to give more if he is hungry. But over feeding can cause bloat. That is with any food though. Make it once a week and your pup can be eating like a king. It costs less than $10 to make, well worth it if you ask me. This food is fresh and doesn't sit on a shelf for who knows how long. It was so yummy that Scooter was running back to his bowl just to lick the taste off it. :D

Have a....

Safe and Happy July 4th! Remember this is OUR independence day. This is a day that men and women for generations have sacrificed and died for. Thank you to the men and women who have and are serving our country.

New House-Landscaping

The flowers surrounding the mailbox.

I normally don't plant annuals, but I figured why not.

Two of these are planted. I'm not good with plant names. I just make sure to get perennials that need full sun.

One of three rose bushes in the front yard. My mom will be taking at least one of them. I don't need so much to mow around, and I'd like to make a rock garden.

I don't have much of a green thumb, so here's hoping I don't kill all these poor plants.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

The big move is D-O-N-E! Now to get our old house ready to sell, and get it sold. Shouldn't be too difficult as the area we lived in has fixer uppers in our house's price range. Ours will be basically move in ready. The real estate agent we'll be using is pretty good.

I've lived without internet for a week, got to admit that was pretty sucky. Had to go to my mom's house and borrow her's for the little time I snuck onto Facebook. Other than that I was limited to my iPhone. Must admit, I didn't mind not being able to browse the world wide web, I just hated not having Netflix on my PS3. Which wonderfully enough the PSN is back up, so now I get to enjoy my Hulu again. Sony is offering two free games (of a limited variety) to all Playstation users. Also when you first log back on you must change your password for security reasons.

Alright, so in the feel of needing a subject let me hand out some moving tips.

1. Make sure you have more extra $$$ than you planned on spending.

2. If you don't have pros helping with the move, have beer for the epic buddies who will be helping. Or offer to cook them a meal.

3. Don't let the less organized person pack.

4. Try to save money by getting boxes from grocery stores, dollar stores, fast food restaurants. Hardees has these great fry boxes that were the perfect size and strength.

5. Use this as an opportunity to eliminate clutter from your life. Get rid of old clothes, books, dishes, anything you've not used within the last 5 years. Don't get trash happy and throw out any sentimental items.

6. Make a To Do list and stick with it. Don't forget to add to the list change of address with USPS (which you can do online). Be sure to also do a change of address with places you regularly shop and owe money to. A change of address with USPS is good for one year.

7. Label boxes as detailed as you can. What room it goes to, and an example of what's in the box.

8. When moving pets place them in a quiet room and let them explore the house on there own. If you're like me and have a dog that terrorizes the cats, then move the cats first and let them explore with the dog out of the house.

9. Wash all your dishes before putting them away. Cause really do you want to taste bubble wrap or newspaper?

10. Take breaks while unpacking. This isn't a race to see who's the fastest unpacker in the west. Unpack, relax, unpack some more. And either focus on one room at a time, or spread it out. Whichever works best for you. I personally was able to move stuff over time, and had the guest bedroom and master bedroom pretty much done by move in day. The bathroom was the first full room done, then the living room, then the kitchen. Now I'm tackling the dining room, and the husband and I took care of the office. With the exception of a few of my husband's boxes. Luckily my husband unpacked the third bedroom all on his own, which coincidentally enough is his guy room anyway.

Well...I've missed blogging, as I'm sure you've totally missed reading my ramblings. I sort of pulled this out of my head in under 10 minutes, so it's all sorts of sloppy I'm sure.

Sing It Foo Fighters....

Call and I'll answer at home in the lost and found
You say that I'm much too proud
Someone who's taking pleasure in breaking down
You wont find me I'm going MIA
Tonight I'm leaving going MIA
So you don't find me I'm going MIA
Tonight I'm leaving going MIA
Say good-bye to me I'm going MIA

My creative way of saying due to the husband's college graduation,  party, and moving plans I will be MIA for a few. Expect my sporadic blogging to return at the end of next week.
