PetSmart

PetSmart recently opened a new location in Richmond. I've not been to the Louisville or Florence locations; I have however been to the Lexington, Nicholasville, and now Richmond locations. The Nicholasville location is by far the most helpful and friendliest. The Lexington location is full of slightly rude customers and not always helpful employees, but has the most variety of product. The Richmond location has the best layout and the employees seem friendly enough, but the store is new so only time will tell. The Lexington and Nicholasville locations have a Banfield clinic, but the Richmond location doesn't seem to. All in all the best qualities of all stores would make the best store.

Celebs and babies....is it a fad?

So many celebs have announced they're expecting or have had a child and 2011 isn't even through it's first month. Are babies fashion items for celebs, or are we finally in a time where having kids doesn't "hurt" your career? I think the more cynical of us would dare to say that announcing a pregnancy is a form of free publicity. Gossip mags are going to be pay big dollars to get those baby bump photos. What are they having? Who's the dad? Are they getting married before the baby comes? What kind of mom will she baby? Gossip mags and sites have a field day when an actress or musician becomes preggers. People.com on any given week seems to have at least one of the most read stories involving baby related news. Celebs kids are being considered tiny fashionistas, where the whole outfit may cost as much as a semester at your local community college. Your seeing infants with three nannies, or in Donald Trumps case a whole floor of his home devoted to his son. When does it get to be too much?

But back to the question at hand. Are babies fads? Or do celebs feel that it is ok to become parents? I think it's a bit of both. I think you find those people that are loaded and will hand off their kids to the nannies when it gets to be too much. They enjoy spoiling their kids, and everyone seeing how much money they've spent. They enjoy all the publicity they receive. But I think you have those celebs that feel like having a child won't slow them down. That women can get pregnant and gain the weight, granted you've got to drop it within the first two months or you're abnormal. There are those that have kids because they want to. Because they're life was empty before becoming a parent.

I think the biggest to blame for this so called celeb baby craze is the gossip mags and sites.

Who's your Valentine?

Is February 14th a day that we should only celebrate the love we share with our significant others? Why not instead take the day to celebrate the love we have for everyone in our lives. Year round we should show those we care about that we love them; however it's nice to have special days like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays to show those special to us just how special they are.
